Colleagues on flight LS518 from Tenerife to Newcastle were forced to divert to Ireland’s Shannon Airport on New Year’s Day, due to the unacceptable behaviour of a disruptive passenger.

Just hours into 2016, a female that was reportedly showing increasingly aggressive behaviour towards cabin crew during the flight was handed over to the local police. will now be working closely with the relevant authorities to pursue any necessary action.

The latest in a growing number of incidents for the airline industry, this example of disruptive behaviour is exactly what, alongside our partners, hopes to tackle as part of the Onboard Together campaign.

Widely reported by the media (see Daily Mail article below), with customer support also shared on Twitter (above), this latest action shows’s continued commitment to Onboard Together and follows numerous successes for the campaign in 2015.

Phil Ward, managing director of, said: “As part of our Onboard Together initiative we have empowered our crew to take whatever action necessary to protect both passengers and themselves from offensive and anti-social behaviour. The safety and welfare of our customers and staff is always our number one priority.”
