Holidaymakers with a sporty side might be tempted to get involved in Cyprus’ favourite annual running event, the Aphrodite Half Marathon. The event draws hundreds of spectators each year as up to a thousand athletes and fun runners battle it out to the finish line.

The race takes competitors thirteen miles along the beautiful historic coast of Paphos, which according to legend is the birthplace of the goddess of love herself, Aphrodite.
