Explore Amsterdam on the Eco-Friendly Canal Hopper

November 07, 2011 at 14:12

One of the best ways of touring the city is by Amsterdam’s environmentally friendly canal hopper. The open top electric boat stops at museums, galleries and most of Amsterdam’s other major attractions.

With a day ticket you can hop on and off at favourite attractions along the way, including the Van Gogh Museum and the Ann Frank House. But what makes the canal hopper particularly unique is that it will take you to places that regular tour boats are prohibited from entering.

Canal Hoppers only operate from Friday-Sunday and depart frequently throughout those days from Amsterdam’s Damrak Pier 6. Day tickets cost around 20 Euros but single tickets are also available.

There’s nothing more romantic than gliding along Amsterdam’s enchanting canals by candlelight, taking in the neon lit sights as you enjoy cheese and fine wine with your loved one.

There are a variety of wonderful evening cruises available and of course the boats are heated and glass-enclosed for your comfort during winter.

With many cheap flights to Amsterdam available throughout the autumn and winter, next time you’re visiting this magnificent city why not check out the wonderful canal cruises available.
